GeneDex was developed by the
scientists at OriGene Technologies as part of a daily resource
used in completing their mission of isolating a full-length
cDNA clone for every gene expressed in the human transcriptome.
The goal of this mission is to enable the complete and most
accurate functional analysis of the human genome. We see this
goal to be satisfied not only by having an authentic cDNA
clone for every gene and their splice variant, but also in
the power of having complete collections of these cDNA clones
for the interrogation of function. These collections enable
broad validation through gain of function assays as described
by the scientists at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis
Research Institute (GNF).
However, full-length cDNA collections are not sufficient to
understand biological function. The gene is the starting point
of all biological experiments.
